Purdue Football seeks to keep the train moving on Saturday in their biggest game to date. The 3-3 Boilermakers take on No. 2 ranked Ohio State Saturday night under the lights at Ross-Ade Stadium. Purdue will face a ton of adversity, hoping to pull off the upset.
Last Week (Purdue)
Last Saturday in Champaign, Purdue pulled off their most impressive win of the season. The Boilers steamrolled Illinois 46-7, winning their 3rd straight game. Purdue tore up the Illini defense with 611 total yards of offense. The Boilers defense was incredible as well, not allowing a score for the final 52 minutes.
David Blough continued his dominant stretch with another nice air attack. Blough completed 25/36 passes for 377 yards and 3 touchdowns. He even caught a touchdown on a Jeff Brohm trick play, totaling 4 scores on the day.
D.J. Knox added 150 yards on 17 carries. Isaac Zico led receivers with a huge afternoon, catching 5 passes for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns. Rondale Moore also had 100+ yards with 4 receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown.
Last Week (Ohio State)
The Buckeyes won by 16 points last week at home against Minnesota. But it was a very close contest for the first 30 minutes. Ohio State led by just a field goal at halftime but trailed late in the 2nd quarter.
Minnesota jumped out to a 14-10 with 6:12 left before the break, putting pressure on the Buckeyes. Ohio State would gain momentum heading into the half, scoring a touchdown. That carried into the second half, scoring 13 more points unanswered. Ohio State ended up winning 30-14 after shutting down the Golden Gophers in the second half.
