Victor Caratini continued his hot stretch with an RBI, putting the Cubs up 2-1. After the Nationals tied it in the 5th, the Cubs had another immediate response. Javy Baez homered to right, making it a 3-2 lead.

A Nationals run in the 7th tied it 3-3. The Cubs could not score in the 8th with the bases loaded. The game would end up going to extras, but the Cubs wasted no time. Javy Baez hit the eventual game-winning RBI bunt, putting the Cubs up 4-3. Randy Rosario picked up his 1st career save, as the Cubs won 4-3.
