RECAP — Cubs 3, Brewers 0

The Cubs shutout Milwaukee on Tuesday night with a 3-0 win. Jose Quintana dominated the Brewers once again, firing 6 2/3 shutout innings.

How it Happened

The Cubs wasted hardly any time, scoring 2 runs in the second inning. Ben Zobrist scored on an error pickoff attempt, putting the Cubs up 1-0. In the same at-bat,  Victor Caratini hit an RBI single giving the Cubs a 2-0 lead. That was it until the 7th, as both pitching dominated. Caratini drove in his 2nd run of the game on an RBI double. The key 7th inning insurance run made it 3-0.

Jorge De La Rosa and Pedro Strop closed it out, as the Cubs won the shutout.

The Cubs improve to 84-60 this season, back to a 2.0 game NL Central lead.
