The Cubs came back again, flying the “W” 3-2 over Washington on Friday afternoon.

How it Happened

The Cubs were down 2-0 early after Kyle Hendricks struggled. Hendricks bounced back and dominated the rest of the way. However, the Cubs didn’t have a hit through 5.0 innings. Jason Heyward got the first one in the sixth and it was a big one. Heyward blasted an RBI single, scoring two runs, tying the game 2-2.

The Cubs offense came through again in the seventh. Anthony Rizzo took a bases-loaded walk, giving the Cubs a late 3-2 lead. It was Rizzo’s third walk of the afternoon. Carl Edwards and Pedro Strop delivered as the Cubs hung on to win 3-2.

One Great Moment

David Bote just keeps on delivering. He’s a stud that keeps impressing. Bote was playing third again today and had a pretty nice defensive highlight:

The Cubs improve to 67-48 this season, now 2.5 games up on the Brewers.
