The Cubs did all the scoring in this one with a shutout. David Bote started things off strong in the first with an RBI triple. Bote knocked in two runs, giving the Cubs a 2-0 lead. “Mr. Clutch” Ben Zobrist delivered in the fifth with a sacrifice fly, making it 3-0.
David Bote extended the lead more in the fifth. Bote hit an RBI single, putting the Cubs up 4-0. Ian Happ capped things off with a sacrifice fly in the 8th, adding an insurance run. Justin Wilson worked a 1-2-3 ninth with a strikeout, as the Cubs won 5-0.
