Jose Quintana and Cubs relief pitching dominated on Tuesday. The Cubs won 2-0 with a three-hit shutout of the Giants. More good news, Kris Bryant is expected to return for the third and final game of the series on Wednesday.

How it Happened

It was a pitcher’s duel for the first six innings before anyone scored. Jose Quintana was luckily the active pitcher in the seventh when the Cubs scored first. Addison Russell doubled and scored on a wild pitch and throwing error, giving the Cubs a 1-0 lead. Victor Caratini added an insurance run in the seventh with an RBI double. The Cubs leading 2-0 would be enough to win. Cubs relief pitching dominated, as the Cubs beat the Giants 2-0.

The Cubs improve to 52-37 this year, still 1.5 games behind Milwaukee.
