How it Happened
Through two innings, the Cubs and Giants were scoreless. The Cubs scored first and only once. Ian Happ reached third on a double and then a single from Albert Almora. Addison Russell grounded into a fielder’s choice, scoring Happ for a 1-0 Cubs lead. It was an astonishing performance from Kyle Hendricks, dominating on the mound. Although, the Cubs gave up one run on Anthony Rizzo’s error in the 5th. Hendricks didn’t get run support, as the score stayed 1-1 for five innings. The Giants loaded the bases in the 11th and walked it off, winning 2-1.
The Cubs fall to 51-37 this year, still 1.5 games behind Milwaukee.
Jose Quintana looks to get the Cubs momentum back on Tuesday. Quintana is set to start at 9:15 PM CT on ABC 7 and 670 The Score.
