It’s only been a month since the 2018 MLB Draft, and Nico Hoerner has made an instant impact.
Hoerner lasted 3 games in the Rookie League before a quick promotion to Eugene. It’s only a matter of time before he reaches South Bend.
Hoerner missed a few games in early July, nursing a small hand injury. He’s still managed to play in 5 games for Eugene, batting .438/.550/.750 for the Emeralds. On top of that, Hoerner just hit his first professional home run last night.
Nico Hoerner was ahead in the count 2-1 and took advantage. Hoerner homered on a ball just over the right-field wall into Eugene’s bullpen. Check out Hoerner’s first home run as a member of the Cubs organization below:
