The Cubs completed the sweep of the Brewers on Sunday afternoon backed by an excellent start from Tyler Chatwood, as they beat Milwaukee 2-0.
Addison Russell: 2 for 4, 1 R, 1 RBI
Willson Contreras: 2 for 4
Tyler Chatwood: 1 for 2, 1 RBI
Tyler Chatwood: 7.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, Win
How it Happened
The Cubs dominant pitching continued with a second straight quality start from Tyler Chatwood, shutting out the Brewers. We would get on the board in the fifth inning when Chatwood on offense hit an RBI single that scored Addison Russell giving the Cubs a 1-0 lead. Then in the sixth inning, Russell hit a sac-fly to center that scored Anthony Rizzo, putting the Cubs up 2-0. That would be it for the Cubs offense, but the relief pitching was strong as they went on to win 2-0.
One Great Moment
Tyler Chatwood looked to keep the momentum going for the Cubs pitchers and complete the series sweep today. Chatwood did just that and then some with just a two-hitter while striking out four and picking up the win. Check out some of his highlights from today in our “One Great Moment” below.
