The Players to Watch For

Nolan Arenado (COL): Nolan Arenado is no doubt the second-best third baseman in baseball, behind, of course, Kris Bryant. Arenado is always producing monster numbers and could play more competitively just because he is in competition with Bryant for the best third baseman in baseball. We are serious with his past numbers showing. This season, Arenado is batting above .300 with a home run and 6 RBI.

Albert Almora (CHC): The leadoff spot was presumably taken by Ian Happ after a monster Spring Training, and then a sure bet after that leadoff home run against the Marlins. Well, the debate opened back up for Joe Maddon who put Almora in the leadoff spot against the Cardinals on Thursday which worked out really well in the 8-5 win. He should bat leadoff again for this series.

The Conclusion

The Cubs really have a good chance to gain momentum with this quick three-game road series before traveling to Cleveland for two and then coming to Wrigley for seven. If they have a chance of accomplishing success and finally breaking out looking like the 2016 Cubs, this is the time to do so.
