Odds are you recognize the name and face of Purdue’s latest MBB Commit for its 2019 class, Isaiah Thompson. You are not mistaken, the Zionsville High School (IN) point guard is the younger brother of current Boilermaker P.J. Thompson. On Sunday afternoon, the Junior announced some great news on Twitter that he is officially a Purdue Boilermaker.

Thompson said, “There’s no place like home” when it came down to his final decision, and Purdue seems to be the best fit for him even without the older brother P.J. Thompson factor. He also had an offer from Butler and interest from Indiana and Ball State. Obviously, the interest was not mutual between Thompson and IU, or else he would be playing for the bitter rival of Purdue. It is really cool to see Thompson follow in the footsteps of his older brother P.J., and his game should translate well to the college level.
Just as a Junior, Thompson is already turning heads in the State of Indian and across the country. He currently is ranked 5th in the Indiana 2019 Basketball Recruits list behind some big names with attention from some of the most prestigious basketball programs. Overall at his position, Thompson is 27th in the country.
Vitals: 6’0, 165, Class of 19. Zionsville, Indiana (Zionsville H.S.).
Thompson is the first Commitment of many in Matt Painter’s 2019 class. He is already averaging big numbers as a Junior, which will improve even more when he is a Senior this winter. Purdue University and Boilermaker fans gladly welcome Isaiah Thompson to the Purdue Basketball family! Boiler Up!
