First NBA All-Star Returns Are In, Victor Oladipo In Third for Guards.

The NBA All-Star Voting Returns are in for the first time since the voting started just a few short weeks ago and Indiana Pacers Star Victor Oladipo is in the frontrunning for guards in the Eastern Conference.

Oladipo has received 251,886 votes from fans to participate in the yearly event which is ranked third among guards in the East. Kyrie Irving with 802,834 votes and DeMar DeRozan with 259,368 votes are the only guards in the East ranked ahead of Victor.

The 25-year old has had an incredible start to this season despite missing the Pacers last four games due to a sore knee. Oladipo is averaging 24.9 points, 3.9 assists, 5.3 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, and 1.8 steals per game in an average of 34.4 minutes a contest. It’s been a breakout year for Oladipo was shipped over in the offseason from Oklahoma City to Indiana in the Paul George deal.

Oladipo has already proved all the doubters wrong about his worth to the Pacers, and we are finally starting to notice that when he’s been out. The Pacers have lost five games in a row, including four without Victor. He alone could be worth 10-15 extra wins a season to the Pacers. Without Oladipo, the Pacers simply are not as good of a team.

Out of Guards and the Frontcourt leading vote-getters in the Eastern Conference, only Kyrie Irving, Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Joel Embiid, Kristaps Porzingis, and Demar DeRozan have more votes than Oladipo. These guys are no surprise because they are highly recognized across the country while Victor Oladipo is a homegrown guy who has support from his fans in the State of Indiana.

Oladipo is no doubt worth a spot on the Eastern Conference All-Star team which is he running based on these voting numbers. Being a starter could be a longshot, but Oladipo does have the numbers to back him up. I’m sure Pacers fans are just happy to see Oladipo play like the way he is, and an All-Star selection would be the icing on the cake for a fantastic season. The future is bright!
