STATE COLLEGE, PA.– IU wasn’t supposed to beat #4 Penn State on the road, but they fared much better than some teams who have tried to beat the undefeated Lions!
Indiana rolled with two quarterbacks, Richard Lagow and Peyton Ramsey who each failed to reach 100 yards. Lagow went 7-for-15 with 97 yards, while Ramsey finished 8-for-17 with 78 yards and a touchdown.
Morgan Ellison and Ramsey tied for the team lead in rushing yards. Ellison ran the ball 9 times for 53 yards and Ramsey ran 12 times for 53 yards as well. Cole Gest added 10 carries for 48 yards. Ricky Brookins ran the ball 3 times for only 4 yards while recording the only IU rushing touchdown.
Despite allowing 45 points, the IU defense looked decent on paper. They recorded 72 tackles as a team, with Tegray Scales leading the way with 11. Scales added 3.0 sacks and 3 tackles for loss in addition to his already great day. Jonathan Crawford added an interception late in the second quarter.
The Hoosiers scored both of their touchdowns in the second quarter and overall wasn’t too bad on offense. The defense just could not stop Penn State from scoring.
UP NEXT: Indiana will look to get things back on track with an easy home game against Charleston Southern.
