Aramis Ademan is yet another great Shortstop prospect in the Cubs farm system. You have guys like Starlin Castro, Junior Lake, Javy Baez, Addison Russell, Gleyber Torres, Zack Short, and Isaac Paredes who have all been solid Shortstops in the majors and minors in their young careers. Ademan is another one of those guys with a very good OBP and good pitch patience with quite a few walks. Ademan slashed .267/.324/.427/.751 on the season in only 68 games. He started 2017 late for the Short-Season Emeralds and immediately jumped up to South Bend. Ademan turns 19 on Wednesday and was signed by the Cubs in August of 2015. For a teenager to put up those kinds of numbers in Low-A and Single-A in his second season is incredible. Ademan’s future is very bright already playing very well at such a young age.
