Cubs Top Pitching Prospect Dylan Cease was dominate on the mound Friday, throwing five scoreless innings

SOUTH BEND, IN.– Cubs Top Pitching Prospect Dylan Cease was once again impressive in his start this time at home on Friday night.

Cease pitched five innings only allowing three hits and no runs while striking out six and walked one. He, unfortunately, didn’t earn the win despite his dominance because the Lansing Lugnuts rallied from 2 down, scoring 6 runs off reliever Tyler Peyton.

Cease is currently 1-2 on the season with a 2.47 ERA in twelve starts. After tonight’s start, he matches his 2016 total number of starts with the Eugene Emeralds last season.

He won Cubs Minor League Pitcher of the Month in April and earned Midwest League All-Star Honors already during this season. You can say for sure that very soon he will find himself promoted to Myrtle Beach to pitch for the Pelicans.
